God Bless America

On September 11, 2001, we saw the the bad, the ugly, the heroic, the
loving, the sacrifice, the pain, the good, and the incredible being of One.
Because that is what we are.......ONE.

A Woman Scorned
by F.M. Pierce

She saw it all from her perch below,
In disbelief she stared and thought,
"Those planes are coming in much too low."
Then in a blink her worst nightmare began,
Some unknown terrorist had attacked her homeland.

She heard the cries of her children, that told of that fatal blow,
She smelled the burning rubble, and could see the ashen snow,
She wanted to protect them, to shield them from what was happening,
She could not; the death toll would ring.

She weeps for what she saw and heard that September day,
Her solid arms unable to move her family from harm's way.
She curses the name of those who would send cowards,
to do their wretched deeds,
Even as now she tends to her families' needs

Her name is known throughout the land,
Lady Liberty for justice she stands.
Her children are known to all,
Americans who for no man will fall.

And on the eleventh day of September,
A horrid day they will all remember,
A time had come to mourn,
A Re-United Nation would be born.
And from the mother of this great land,
A warning to those who in her vengeful path would stand,
"As my countrymen lay suffering and war-torn,
Make no mistake: Hell hath no fury, like a woman scorned."

I wish to thank F.M. Pierce for so graciously
letting me use her wonderful poem. She is the
wife of a Navy serviceman, and the link to her
site is listed below. Please visit her site, as
she has information there for wives of servicemen.
~Thank you, Michelle~

It is so very hard to write the words in my heart. There is such sorrow
for the victims, and their families, the firefighters, the police, the
innocent, that went out on a bright morning to become our fallen heroes.
September 11, 2001, Black Tuesday, the Day The World Cried, will go down in
history, and be remembered for a very long time. The cowards that tried to
tear us apart, brought us together, united, strong, and turning to one
another for comfort. We will stand strong, and more united. It brought us
together, as one family, and one nation.

This page is dedicated to all who lost their lives in New York, Washington D.C.,
and Pennsylvania. It is also dedicated to their loved ones, the survivors, and
all who were affected by this great tragedy, and the love I have for my country,
and homeland...the United States of America.

My heart and my prayers go out to all, as we all lost something on this horrific
day. Our country will never be quite the same. It was a big awakening as to
what can happen in a single moment, and to those who have never seen a war close
up, what it can do...the destruction to everything we hold dear.

From the ashes, I can only hope that we will make the world a better place
for our children, our grandchildren, and those to come. May we all have the
grace and the wisdom to do that for future generations.

It often happens that the real tragedies of life occur in such an inartistic
manner that they hurt us by their crude violence, their absolute incoherence,
their absurd want of meaning, their entire lack of style.

~ Oscar Wilde ~

Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay
any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose
any foe to assure the survival and the success of LIBERTY.

~John F. Kennedy~

The first question to be answered by any individual or any social group,
facing a hazardous situation, is whether the crisis is to be met as a
challenge to strength, or as an occasion for despair.

~Harry Emerson Fosdick~

The future is not in the hands of fate, but in ours.
~Jules Jusserano~
